Chloe Grace Moretz talks ‘The 5th Wave’ with Barnes and Noble!

20140811-172532-62732994.jpg
Our Cassie, Chloe Grace Moretz talked with Barnes and Noble about The 5th Wave, If I Stay and more.

You’re starring in The 5th Wave next, an adaptation of a YA series by Rick Yancey, and spent a lot of time on-set with If I Stay author Gayle Forman—has this inspired you to get writing?

I try to, but because I’m 17 I think my brain can’t handle sitting and writing one thing, so I’ll literally start a project of writing something and I get completely sidetracked and I CANNOT FINISH IT. So I think I have to give myself a couple of years and try.

What are some of your favorite YA books?

I enjoy books that aren’t really YA in that sense, so when I read The 5th Wave it’s a very un-YA YA book, and the same with If I Stay, and these are books that hang under the label of YA but aren’t really—they deal with bigger problems and bigger emotions than most YA books. My favorite novel in general is Wuthering Heights.

See Chloe as Mia in If I Stay on August 22 and in The 5th Wave on January 29, 2016.

Chloe Grace Moretz covers September issue of Flare Magazine!

FLR09_Cover

Our Cassie, Chloe Grace Moretz is on the cover of Flare Magazine’s September issue.

During her interview with Flare magazine Chloe talked dating, fashion, acting and more.

On the fashion industry: “People say don’t judge a book by its cover, but if someone wears a crazy outfit, they’re automatically a crazy person. If you wear a tame outfit, you’re automatically a prude…You can be whoever you want through what you wear.”

On her biggest acting challenge: “It seems so silly, but happiness and love are much more spontaneous than heavy, dark, crying emotion; everyone cries. But actually making someone laugh, and falling in love…”

On her dating : “It’s a tough age to fall in love: people change so quickly… I don’t want to have to feel like I have to watch my step, ’cause I’m 17 and I shouldn’t have to… [To my friends] I’m like, ‘Dude, you’re wasting away your entire high-school years, and now you’re going to waste away your college years. You’re going to spend your entire life in a relationship and then you’re going to get married… and then you’re dead! So you lived your life in a relationship!’ That’s not my style.”

@Popsugar shares 12 Reasons Why Chloe Grace Moretz is an Inspiring Role Model For Young Women!

PopSugar has shared 12 reasons why Chloe Grace Moretz is a great inspiration to young women.

Check out a few of the reasons below:

1. She Has Her Head on Straight When It Comes to Young Love

In her 2014 interview with Flare magazine, she said, “It’s a tough age to fall in love. People change so quickly. I don’t want to have to feel like I have to watch my step, ’cause I’m 17 and I shouldn’t have to. I’m like, ‘Dude, you’re wasting away your entire high school years, and now you’re going to waste away your college years. You’re going to spend your entire life in a relationship and then you’re going to get married . . . and then you’re dead! So you lived your life in a relationship!’ That’s not my style.”

4. Her Priorities Are Absolutely in Order

In that same 2013 interview with Seventeen Chloë revealed just how important family is to her: “Never choose your friends over your family or a boyfriend or girlfriend over the family. My mom has always taught us that blood is thicker than water. No one will ever understand the dynamic of your family. Ever. We are the closest family ever and we are the most insane family ever. It may look weird to others, but to us, it’s life.”
